IIT: bandi chahiye part II

As promised, I am back with a sequel to the last post. Have you thought why are these IITians so much bundi-hungry?? Every IITian's head turns in perfect sync with the movement of a beautiful bandi ??? why??? I tried to answer these in a previous post IIT gys with turning heads. But, I would like to go in details about this eye-hunting here.

It starts with every IITian having a sharp brain and this leads him to an innate interest in academics. Result: aspiration to be an IITian. So, he digs his eyes in his thick books when his other batchmates were making plans about female hunt. He misses the fun, works hard and does a mistake --- passes the JEE exam, and comes to an IIT. IIT are co-education centres just in name, there have been batches in IITs where there was just one girl in the whole batch ( for bollywood movie fans, did you see matrubhoomi, a sridevi and boney kapoor production??). So, here you come with a nearly no-female institute, fully residential for 4-5 years. And, these guys are also in an interesting period of their life, 17-22 years of age, an age of hot youth, an age which incites you to experiment, an age when you know no bounds, an age when life changes meanings for you, an age when you start looking for things other than books. At this age, you are thrown in a place like IIT where months pass before you go on a date with a beautiful girl?? Go, look in foreign univs. though it is not the rampant sex shown in low-grade american movies, but yes, people do interact much more freely and confidently with opposite sex. Asking a girl out for a date is no big deal. ( I am sure many IITians are already making plans about going for an MS or at least an internship.) But, yes guys, balance is necessary in each and every walk of life. In IIT, sex balance is missing for sure, the reasons for it may be attributed to the high demands of intellect level required by JEE, which forbids an entry to beautiful girls into IIT (remember, beauty * brain = constant).

So, IITs (our dear profs, so kind of them) thought about getting more girls. Though I agree that reducing the fee of application form is not a big step, it certainly is an insinuation towards the next moves. Regardless of steps, let us try to imagine what will happen if somehow, more girls get admitted in IITs, say sex ratio turns into 1:1.

1. Attendance will increase dramatically, boys will flock to classes to see the beauties. Sanam ke deedar ke liye tarasti hai nigahein

2. More number of people (mostly couples, and a few people doing f-hunt) in library all the time. One of my best friends at IIT was a regular library visitor in first year, seems to have lost tempo these days. Library is always a good place where you are supposed to maitain silence and not disturb others, what else do lovebirds want?? Na humne kuch kaha, na tumne kuch kaha, aankhon hi aankhon main baat ho gayi.

3. Less forbidden stuff on the LAN, surely the demand will decrease (why??) and hence will supply.

4. People will get better grades, attending classes, doing co-study in library is better than playing AOE, CS and UT in dorm rooms.

5. And last but not the least, mess workers will have to cook much less food and the on-campus restaurants will have a feast.

Alas, I won't be here then to enjoy a changed atmosphere in IIT ... finally, I am in final year.

good observation. U should join McKensey. I think they need ur analytical brain(don't waste it on the non-males 'coz Theorem 1. Any member of the set of opposite sex, coming to IIT is christened to non-male-ism)
It's always better to have less girls in the campus, 'coz the following points

1. I have seen guys assuming attire of "unwanted smartness" before females, which I strongly dislike.

2. It's always nice to have party with the friends in Billoos, Waldies, Chedis. If by some chance the ratio becomes 1:1, u'll hardly find anybody accompanying u anywhere except possibly ur gf.

3. Remember u get stuck to terms like "Valentine's Day", "ditch", "affair", "break-up".

4. You are going to lose ur health after being "Sleepless in Kgp" flirting nights together => u miss ur classes => u get bad grades.(Attending classes can be encouraged only if we get some faculty like Sushmita Sen in "Main Hoon Na")

5. Yaar, jindagi ka 40-50 saal to aise hi bandi ke saath gujarna parega. At least respite the poor souls for these 4-5 years when they can enjoy their time in CS, sutta, coding, 'Friends', bhajans and whatever.

Think about it!

nothing more could have been expected from a jobless guy. well very few people takes pain in analyze such decesion and your analysis rather sophistry gives us a fade impression of Government decesion.i wont be surprise if same sophistries are running inside these geronotcrates brains.....
well then i think they should also allow co-hostels like managements student.tub toh IIT min padhne ka mazaa hi aa jaayega.b-110 mein hum and b-111 mein ....khair its too good to be true.
well it will be better if u aslo point out few negative outcomes in your next blog,
aise nice blog and it shows you keep your promises.

@arnab (philotics): thanks for suggestion to join Mckinsey, if they take me up, I will be more than happy to join them. Regards your observations:

1. this unwanted smartness will go away if the atio is even, it comes only because of highly skewed demand-supply ratio.

2. U can have parties with friends and their gfs will join as well, a bigger party, a better time, may be u can include dance, booze, candle light, light sex jokes (sharing them with females is more interesting) ... instead of just few frens, chatting abt profs and their massacres.

3. Most of these things are a part of romantic life, an added flavour

4. IITians are used to sleepless nights, but to get faculty like Sush, u need to do the ground work by admitting more girls ... anyway, nice suggestion, why do not u fwd it to dean ( Faculty and planning)??

5. Bhajans do not seem toserve any fruitful purpose, nor do suttas, anyways, these things will not go away with the arrival of more bandis ... look at CS studs with sutta, bandi, gr8 in coding as well, I know few.

@philotics , a quite good observation about life! i must say! and i think you should be at Mksensey , such a nice data interpretion about life.. [your point no 5]...and hey how you are deducing that 1:1 ==> no time with frds , no booze , or even bhajan..??

by the way you are right..!! i guess if sex ration were (1+e):1 then muggos guys/gals would have suffered an inferiority complexity and others would have a "big point" NOT to be a maggu or TO be a "true iitian".
well definetly research work would have gone down....i.e the declaration rate would have been incresead. but yes then "a woman is behind success of a man". how will one justify it?

@binit (aka anonymous): b-110 , b-111 khayal achcha hai, co-hostel, same bathroom ... bahut achcha hai....waise aapne yeh nahi batay, b-109 aur b-110 main kisko dalna hai (select 2 from current SNites)...and yes,I try to keep promises.

why do u want to be anonymous?? afraid?? let the world know what u stand for?? I hate cowards, braves never need to hide.

why do we need uselessly brave people ? Your definition of bravery seems to be bit lopsided. But you are free to interpret an act as one of bravery or cowardice, I don't contest that.
Think over it.
Waise sujhaav achhey hain. Atleast, bandi ke baarey mein attitude theek ho jayega(same hostel mein rehney se :D) etc, etc.
Lein Illu mein load ho sakta hai, kyun ? Half junta girls, so Mess top etc, to kaata karna padega. Aur three-fourth of the boys won't come. No ILLU. Great !!
Down with ILLU.

@pani: thanks for praise, abt definition, yes ... I have allowed anonymous comments so that those who want to criticise, but fear I won't take it in right s[irit, can comment. Though, I have repeatedly said, any constructive criticism is more welcome than adulation.

abt ILLU, who says girls cant work at mess top and all, remember girls like anju bobby george, pt usha, serena williams, also pretty sportswomen like maria sherapova, sania mirza, anna kournikova ...

see sometimes incognito is a part of post. concealing identity doesnt mean being afraid, it just ewither you dont have a blogger acount and dont want to letpeople to get "biased" by name of posted. i dont think i need to jusrtify that how one get prejudiced if you know the identity of person.

I strongly disagree that guy has to gaze on his 'thick' books for two years to get thru JEE.
I thoroughly enjoyed my school life(especially 11th and 12th)....lots of stories ;-) were made.......
and i am still having contact with those b'ful creatures(may be bangy will remind u of my meeting with nats!)............who cares for gals here??
What i wud suggest that 'njoy' ur higher secondary.......take a drop of one year ...mug hard....and get here.....
These ppl just give ample amount of holidays to get u recharged on this front ...once u reach home!!
Some ppl may rightly disagree with my views but atleast they made sense to me !

PS:Modi get a gf as soon as possible, otherwise i am sure u will turn in a paranoid :))

@ashish: do not worry about me, I wont get paranoid ... have got too many ther things to do.

Next, I do not know abt ur stay in std. XI and XII, so no personal comments ... but taking a drop of one year, so that u can eye certain girls in ur XI and XII, just does not make enuf sense to me.

I was researching for an article for our IITM publication so as to get a glimpse of the situation in other IITs and I'm compelled to say that I have never read such B-U-L-L SHIT.
